Spring Break Goodies--Part 2

(As always, these types of posts are not intended to be braggy.  I am curious about what others buy and I know that a bunch of you are curious little buggers too!  So without further ado, on with the goodies!)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello my lovelies!

I am back at school and classes have started up again which means Spring Break 2014 is officially over.  That means it's time for the second half of my Spring Break Goodies (check out the first part here).  I hit up a bunch of different stores and I hadn't realized until it was picture time that there seems to be a running color scheme going on here...Anyways, let's get started with this haul!

Beauty
While at the Maine Mall in Portland I stopped by Lush and made my first purchase ever.  I bought a Popcorn Lip Scrub and it definitely lives up to the hype that everyone has given it!  It comes in a little glass jar and it is essentially little sugar granuals that you pick up on your finger and rub on your lips.  This process gently exfoliates your lips and because the ingredients are all natural you can eat off the excess!  I also purchased a Whip Stick Lip Balm in the scent Whipped Chocolate/Orange.  It smells exactly like a chocolate orange and if I could I would eat it directly out of the tin!  The last thing I bought at Lush was a Butterball Bath Bomb.  I'm just going to say that this bath bomb is amazing!  After putting it in the water and watching it fizz, I soaked for a while and when I got out my skin was softer than I can ever remember.  This is something that I will definitely repurchase!

The next couple of places I went were Sephora and Ulta.  I showed some restraint and only bought one item from each store.  At Sephora I bought a small package that contained the Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil and the Tarte Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment.  So far I have enjoyed using both these products.  The oil has a pleasant smell and the eye cream has no detectable smell.  I have been using each for a week and haven't seen any noticeable changes in my skin, however I will keep using it to see what another week will do!

At Ulta I found another NYX Glam Lipstick Aqua Luxe in the shade Enchanting which I just had to have.  It is a gorgeous nude color with a slight silver reflection.  Just like the other two I purchased earlier in Spring Break, this one applies very smoothly.

I also stopped by Big Lots and Walmart where I found a Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in the shade Creamsicle, a Cover Girl lipstick in the shade Hot Passion, and three NYC nail polishes in the shades Tudor City Teal, Preppy Pink, and Lexington Lilac.

Clothing
This break wasn't a very clothing heavy break for me.  I stopped in Forever 21 and picked up a new Spring/Summer pajama set that has a grey top and light pink shorts with grey letters all over them.

I was also able to find a pair of navy blue flats at Payless Shoes!  I have been on the hunt for navy blue flats and I had seen a couple of pairs that I liked, but my size wasn't available.  So when I saw these I snapped them up!  I can't wait for the snow and ice to melt so that I can wear them without the fear of ruining them!

Other
A couple weeks ago I had seen a post on the blog Everyday is a Holiday that showed off a bunch of great finds at Target, so during break I got my butt to Target and picked up the aqua notecards that Jenny had mentioned.  I also picked up a set in coral and a set of thank you cards.  With graduation coming I want to thank people for any gifts (if any) that I receive.  I also purchased some aqua and coral pens/pencils as well as a white and silver chevron pencil cup for my desk!  Also for my desk are the new aqua sticky notes, aqua notepad, and the little sign that says "blah." in silver cursive.  One of the first things I did when I got back to school was setup/reorganize my desktop and now it has a nice, fresh, color scheme!

The last store that I went to was Michael's I had originally gone in to look for some storage ideas, but then I saw these cute circular scrapbook embelishments that were on clearance.  I kept coming back to them and thinking about what I could use them for when I finally thought of making magnets out of them.  I bought a package of adhesive magnets and stuck them onto the back of each embellishment and voilĂ , instant magnets!  They look so cute dotting the front of my refrigerator in my dorm room!

Well, that's it for the Spring Break Goodies and I think that this will be the last haul for a while.  I have a few other posts in the works, so stay tuned for those!

The Calendar Says Spring, But My Yard Says Winter.

Hello lovelies!

I imagine that many of you have the winter time blues like I do.  Here it is, a couple days into spring and I am still seeing mounds of snow with more on the way!  Please take pity on me Mother Nature and give me some warm weather *grovels on hands and knees*.

To help lift your spirits and to get into a spring time mood there are a few different things that I like to do:

1. Dig out the spring colors!
Last spring/summer I fell in love with the coral/mint combination and that small obsession is still going strong!  I have been looking forward to this time of year so that I would be able to wear these colors without getting some weird looks from friends.  Here I have two Maybelline Color Whispers in the colors Coral Ambition and Pinup Peach, Jergens Natural Glow, Julie G nail polish in the shade Gelato in Venice, Wet n' Wild nail polish in the shade Blazed.  Lastly I have a Maybelline Fit Me Blush in the shade Medium Coral.  Just looking at the colors in this picture puts me in a better mood!

2. Clean out and start new.
While home on break I spent a lot of time staring at my closet and cringing at how messy it was. So I took a few trash bags and started filling them until I had four bags for Goodwill and two bags of garbage.  It's crazy how much stuff I actually fit in there.  For the first time in years I can actually see the bottom!  When going through I found that I was very strict with myself and if I hadn't worn it in the past six months or so it went in the bag.  Someone else will be able to love it like I did once upon a time!

3. Get up beat.
There are always certain songs that just scream summer to me whenever I listen to them.  So in preparation for the warmer months I always enjoy making a playlist full of upbeat songs, or digging out an old one from summers past that bring back great memories!  For this spring my playlist consists of:

Move-Little Mix
Hell Yeah-Midnight Red
Talk Dirty-Jason Derulo
Goodness Gracious-Ellie Goulding
XO-Beyonce
Replay-Zendaya
Team-Lorde
Can We Dance-The Vamps
Better Than Words-One Direction
Don't Worry Be Happy-Guy Sebastian
What About Us-The Saturdays
Dark Horse-Katy Perry
On Our Way-The Royal Concept
Neon Lights-Demi Lovato
Do It All Over Again-Elyar Fox
Timber-Pitbull
Take Me Home-Midnight Red
Trumpets-Jason Derulo
Braveheart-Neon Jungle

If you hadn't heard of any of these artists, check them out and give them some love!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What do you do to get in a spring time mood?  Do we do the same things?

Until next time,

Spring Break Goodies--Part 1

(As always, these types of posts are not intended to be braggy.  I am curious about what others buy and I know that a bunch of you are curious little buggers too!  So without further ado, on with the goodies!)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello my lovelies!

As of last Friday, I am on Spring Break!  Although it's only been a few days, I've been having an awesome time just relaxing and not having to worry about course work.  One of the highlights has been getting out and being able to go to stores that I don't have near school.  I went to Forever 21, Wetseal, Aerie, American Eagle, etc. but oddly enough I didn't find anything that I had to have in any of those stores.  The place that I had the most luck was JCPenney!  I was able to find FIVE skirts that are all nice, light, and summery which can be purchased here: Coral/Yellow Flowers (top right), Daisy (bottom left), Black (bottom right)

I was also able to find a Coral colored dress that has little cutouts all over.  I think that this will be the dress that I wear for graduation in May!  Unfortunately I was unable to find this on the JCPenney website.

I also stopped by Ulta and TJMaxx while I was out and picked up these three gems.  The two NYX products are from the GLAM Lipstick Aqua Luxe collection and they were on clearance at ULTA for $2.99 a piece because the colors have been discontinued.  The one on the left is in the color Razzle Dazzle and the one on the right is in the color Lotus.  I've only had them a couple of days, but they gave me a great first impression!  These slide onto the lips very fluidly and they feel very light when on.  There is a hint of glitter in these that makes the lips sparkle a bit, so they aren't quite matte, but they are great so far!

The Butter London nail polish in the center I found at TJMaxx for $6.99!  It was so much cheaper than other places that I have looked, so I knew I had to grab it!  Plus, this purchase allows me to cross yet another thing off my "Products I Want to Try in 2014" list :)  I picked this up in the color Thames which is a gorgeous blue/green color.  I can honestly say that the color you see in the bottle is the color that appears on the nail and I'm eager to find more of these!

I also stopped by Ocean State Job Lot and found these Milani lipglosses.  I got a
3D Glitzy Glamour Gloss in the shade In Vogue for $1.50, a lipgloss in the shade Red Delicious for $.75, two Haute Flash lipglosses in the shades Hot Flash and Golden Flash for $1.50 each, and a Glitzy Glamour Gloss in the shade 50 Center Stage for $1.50.  All of these are very pigmented and the red ones give off that perfect candy apple red smile when worn while the pink and brown ones are more subdued.  My only complaint is that the Red Delicious gloss (second one from the left) is very matte and looks like more of a lipstick when worn instead of a gloss.  Other than that, no harm done, it will still get used!

Stay tuned for part 2!

I've Been Nominated!

Hi everyone!

I've got some exciting news, I've been nominated for a Liebster Award!  The lovely Veronica of Coat of Cosmetics (check out her blog!) nominated me and I can't thank her enough!  I haven't been a blogger for very long, but I was thrilled when I found out about my Liebster Award nomination.  For those that don't know, a Liebster Award is when a blogger nominates eleven other bloggers who have less than 200 blog followers and ask them a list of eleven random questions/facts about themselves.  Without further ado, let's get started!

Moisturizer.  If I'm going to be happy, my skin has to be happy!

And the Award for Worst Blogger Goes to...This Girl!

Hello everyone!

I am back and ready to make some posts!

First off I would like to appologize for disappearing for a month...or two.  I am no longer on Christmas break and school has been pretty hecktic between classes, homework, student organizations, and tutoring, but I want to try to get posting again!  So, maybe I will try to post something once a week? Fingers crossed!

Anyways, since the last time we chatted I have tried a few things from my "10 Products I Want to Try in 2014" post.

The first product I tried was one of the Revlon Lip Butters.  The shade I picked up is called Cherry Tart and as you can see from the picture above, it is a lovely red color.  I found this shade at the Big Lots near my home and it was only $1.80 compared to the prices at walmart and other big name retailers.  I'm not surprised that I love this lipstick as much as I do, the application is nice and smooth and the color is very vibrant!  It is definitely one of the best lipsticks I have purchased recently and I will definitely indulge in other Revlon Lip Butters!

Another product that I have tried is the Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh.  On my Want to Try post I put down Poppy by Coach, but the more that I sent tested it before buying, the more I realized that I wasn't that crazy about it.  However, the Marc Jacobs scent is amazing!  I absolutely love it and the rollerball is $22.00 at Sephora.

The last thing that I have splurged on is the Real Techniques Core Collection.  I have heard so many good things about it, but it literally just came in the mail today, so I haven't exactly tried them.  But I have them and they are ready to go!  I'm sure that they will become a favorite very soon <3

Anyways, until next time,

10 Products I Want to Try in 2014!

1. The Urban Decay Naked Palette 3

I have wanted to try a Naked Palette for well over a year, but they are just so expensive!  However, the colors are pretty amazing.  For my birthday I finally got my hands on the Naked Basics Palette, which I love, but I still want to try one of the larger ones.  I've looked at the Naked and the Naked 2, but the colors in the Naked 3 have stolen my heart.  Maybe someone will be nice enough to get this for me as a graduation gift? Mum? Dad?-hint, hint-

2. Lush Lip Scrub

In the winter time my lips get very chapped and cracked.  For years I have been using the Chapstick brand original chapstick and it works well enough, but I find myself reapplying very often during the day.  What I need to do is get the dead skin off and I believe that this will do the trick.  I would have picked it up on my last shopping trip, but it was out of stock.

3. Revlon Lip Butters

Earlier this year I purchased a few Maybelline Color Whispers in the shades Coral Ambition, Pin Up Peach, and Mocha Muse.  These were my go-to colors all summer and into the fall, but I think I'm ready to try something a little different.  I've seen the Revlon Lip Butters in a lot of videos, most recently Tanya Burrs videos, and the colors just look gorgeous!  So next time I'm out I'm going to look into purchasing a couple of these.

4.  Real Techniques Brushes

I've heard lots of good things about these brushes over the past year, but I have yet to buy any.  I have looked at them several times in Ulta, Kohls, and several other stores, but I always end up putting them down and walking away.  Maybe I will take the plunge this year and give these brushes a try, we shall see.

5. Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Foundation Primer

I have yet to have found a foundation that I have loved.  Most of the time I don't even wear foundation because I don't particularly like the ones I own, so I have decided that this year will be the year of foundation!  But before the foundation I need the primer.  I have heard a lot of good things about the Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Foundation Primer and I think that it will work well with my skin.  Plus, my skin can use all the hydration that it can get!

6. Lush Bath Bombs

Since the start of vlogmas I have wanted to try these.  I first saw them in a video by Zoe Sugg (Zoella) and I've had them on my mind ever since.  I'm usually not one for baths, but I might have to change my ways if I get my hands on some of these! The way that they fizz up and change the color of the water as well as give off a scent just seems so relaxing to me.  The only thing I'm worried about is if they will bother my skin, I would hate to have a full body breakout or something.  Also, does anyone know if they stain the tub?  Comment below if you know!

7. Butter London Nail Polish

More nail polish.  I have tons of nail polish, but I always seem to find another one that I want.  Most recently I have had my eye on the Butter London polishes.  I've never tried them, but from the bottles they look so pretty that I know that I need to get my hands on some to try out!

8. MAC Products

I've seen lots of reviews of MAC products and everyone seems to love them, but I've never tried any of them because they are pretty pricey, especially for a college student's budget.  Nonetheless, I want to purchase some of the products to try out for myself.  A few of the lipsticks have caught my eye, so I think those will be my first purchase once I scrounge together enough money.

9. Origins Eye Doctor Moisture Care

I have a moisturizer for my face that works wonders, but I never use it around my eyes because I don't want to irritate them.  So while my whole face is nice and hydrated, around my eyes is as dry as a desert.  I think that this cream may help and I would love to try it, so hopeully I will be able to get hold of it sometime during the year and put it to the test!

10. Poppy by Coach

On my last shopping trip I decided to try out some perfumes, one of them being Poppy by Coach.  I absolutely love this scent!  It's a nice light scent that isn't over powering at all.  The only drawback for me was that it cost $45.00.  As an alternative I will be looking into the rollerball version of it since it is half the price of the bottle.  Someday I will get a bottle of it, but I don't think that that day will be in 2014.
